Im späten 19. Jahrhundert wurde Bengalen zu einem wichtigen Knotenpunkt für den Ausbau des Eisenbahnnetzes in Britisch-Indien und übertraf damit frühere Entwicklungen in anderen Teilen des Landes. Die East Indian Railway Company war dabei führend und begann 1854 mit dem Bau der Strecke Howrah–Hooghly. Angetrieben von strategischen, wirtschaftlichen und exportbezogenen Erfordernissen breitete sich das Eisenbahnnetz rasch in der gesamten Region aus. Am Ende des Jahrhunderts verfügte Bengalen über eines der umfangreichsten und wichtigsten Eisenbahnsysteme Indiens, das sowohl den Handel als auch die koloniale Kontrolle vorantrieb.
In Movers & Shakers schlüpft ihr in die Rolle eines Eisenbahnmagnaten im Bengalen des 19. Jahrhunderts und konkurriert um den Transport von Gütern, die Erfüllung von Verträgen und die kluge Investition eurer Gewinne. In zwei strategischen Runden transportiert ihr mit den eigenen Zügen und denen eurer Konkurrenten Kisten zwischen Benares und Kalkutta, um durch geschickte Planung und mutige Entscheidungen Wohlstand aufzubauen. Nur der ehrgeizigste und effizienteste Tycoon wird sich durchsetzen und die Zukunft der Eisenbahnen in Bengalen gestalten.

Kurzregel
Overview
Play as a powerful Rail Magnate, operating in Bengal. Over two rounds, compete to fulfill contracts, transport crates between Benaras and Calcutta using your own or rival trains, and invest your profits to earn points.
How to Win
Win by having the most VP at the end of the second round based on the below scoring conditions:
- Increase the value of Asset markers to score VP for each corresponding Asset tile
- Gain Deal Tiles, multiply them with the sum of VP values shown on all their Agencies
- Move up the Performance Track to earn end game VP
- Score VP for each Investment Marker
- Gain VP for Secret Investor Bonus
Setup
At the beginning of the game, starting with the first player, each player receives Rs.2, with each successive player in clockwise order receiving Rs.1 more than the previous player. Starting with first player, each player selects one pairing of Setup card and Asset/Deal tile. This combination determines the starting location of their Freight Cars, their initial Assets, and their turn order for the first round.
On Your Turn
During your turn, play one card from your hand to an unoccupied slot on your player board. Slide it up or down to do either the top Development Action or the bottom Logistics Action. After placing your Action card, you may perform the action(s) shown on the card itself and the uncovered Company action. The order in which you resolve them is up to you, but you must complete each action fully before starting the other
Actions
- Receive/Pay Money: Receive money if money icon is White and pay if it is Red. Move the Cash Flow Marker forward or backward accordingly.
- Advance Market Markers: Move the Benaras, Calcutta of Financial Advisor up the Market Track. Receive any instant bonus when the Financial Advisor reaches or exceeds the level.
- Increase Asset Value: Advance the indicated Asset Value marker(s) the specified number of steps on the Asset Value track.
- Establish an Agency: take the indicated Agency and place it on your Agency track.
- Load Crates: Remove one (or more) goods from your active Contracts and place them onto a Freight Car.
- Move Trains: Move Freight Cars across a number of Rail Segments.
- Boost Performance: Move the Gear token along the Performance Track.
- Ship Crates: Place the indicated number of Crates from your Contracts onto the different Ships of the Shipping zone.
