Round 2 has started

This is the last round where 5p games will be involved, after that every game will be 4p. Sadly, I am ending up in a 4p game for the second time even if id enjoy playing 5p. GL HF everyone

Round 2 starts this evening in 8 hours. I hope that 36 players advance, but I dont know what BGA does about Game 12, which 4 out of 5 players have left. If only 35 players advance we will unfortunately end up in an unfair tournament mode.
Next time I organize this tournament, I will know better how to shape the tournament to avoid byes and increase the portion of 4p games.
And of course, I hope that Game 14 is finished

DerIKM ok, then its actually fine. you couldve warned that you wont be available in the last 5 hours. but admittedly i doubt that it wouldve made a difference, as ejay (and also skappax and santouryuu3) never showed any will to really deal with the time problem

The time limit for each game is 30 days, as BGA does not allow more. I've heared that some games are progressing too slowly. 5 days are over and if your game is not yet close to ending round 1, you somehow need to speed up.
Consider to find an appointment for everyone to progress the game in real-time. Therefore, i recommend to first agree in the game chat on a time of day that can work for everyone, and then make a doodle to find a date.
If one player is the reason for the slow progress, you may negotiate if it is better if (s)he leaves the game (or is skipped when out of time). It's sad, but probably better than than dropping out later or causing the game to not finish. Preferrably, everyone agrees dropping the slow player before it is done.

I am very happy that we reached the mark of 86 players. It means that the tournament will be completely without byes and from round 3 all games will be 4p. If we just had 85 players, we would have very little 4p games and we would eventually get stuck with 6 remaining players, one of which would get a bye to the final.

Please note that most games of this tournament will be 5p games. If you feel uncomfortable about that, please quit before the tournament starts.

I enabled 5p in order to avoid free advances. However, BGA will therefore create 5p games if possible by default. And as we are so much more players than I expected, it will often be possible. Be prepared for 70% of games with 5 players

DerIKM Obviously everything is tighter: hexes, favor tiles (earth1), power actions, priest spots. Power and priests may be less valuable, and it could make especially sense to either rush important hexes early or plan to play tall. And you may expect more leech. But I actually do not have that much experience that I could confirm these ideas with confidence. Overall, I think it is not that different to 4p
