A spectacular duel unfolds deep beneath the earth. You take turns sending out mighty dragons to conquer territories. But place them wisely! If your beasts grow too powerful, they'll turn on each other, and you could lose everything.
Dragon Overload is a card game for two, part of our 2026 Summer of Games.
You compete to send your dragons into five landscapes and gain majority there. Each zone is associated with a specific family of dragons and can hold only a limited number of cards.
How does it work? On your turn, you select one of your cards and place it in one of the available slot on your side of the board. Your opponent gets the card from the pile of the chosen area, and he then plays one of his cards. And so on…
The game is based on a territory-control mechanism, but accumulating power isn't necessarily the best strategy. If the strength of your dragons reaches at least twice that of your opponent’s in a zone, your creatures become uncontrollable and you automatically lose that territory. This rule turns your duels into an exercise in balance and anticipation.
Dragon Overload incorporates an element of bluffing thanks to the possibility to play up to three cards face down. Incomplete information forces your opponent to interpret your intentions while protecting their own plans.
The game ends when one player controls all five territories, when an opponent can no longer perform a valid action, or when all zones are filled. The player with the most territory at that point wins.

Duell der Drachen – Liebling, wir haben die Drachen überlastet
Tief unter der Erde entbrennt ein spektakuläres Duell. Abwechselnd schickt ihr mächtige Drachen aus, um Gebiete zu erobern. Doch setzt sie mit Bedacht ein! Werden eure Bestien zu stark, wenden sie sich gegeneinander, und ihr könntet alles verlieren.
Duell der Drachen ist ein Kartenspiel für zwei Personen und Teil unseres Spiele-Sommers 2026.
Ihr wetteifert darum, eure Drachen in fünf Landschaften zu entsenden und dort die Mehrheit zu erlangen. Jede Zone ist einer bestimmten Drachenfamilie zugeordnet und kann nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Karten aufnehmen.
Wie funktioniert es? In deinem Zug wählst du eine deiner Karten und legst sie in einen der freien Plätze auf deiner Spielfeldseite. Dein Gegner nimmt die Karte vom Stapel des gewählten Bereichs und spielt anschließend eine seiner Karten aus. Und so weiter…
Das Spiel basiert auf einem Gebietskontrollmechanismus, doch Macht anzuhäufen ist nicht unbedingt die beste Strategie. Sobald die Stärke deiner Drachen in einer Zone mindestens doppelt so hoch ist wie die deines Gegners, werden deine Kreaturen unkontrollierbar und du verlierst automatisch dieses Gebiet. Diese Regel macht deine Duelle zu einem Spiel mit Balance und Voraussicht.
Duell der Drachen beinhaltet ein Bluff-Element, da man bis zu drei Karten verdeckt spielen kann. Unvollständige Informationen zwingen den Gegner, die eigenen Absichten zu erraten und gleichzeitig seine eigenen Pläne zu schützen.
Das Spiel endet, wenn ein Spieler alle fünf Gebiete kontrolliert, wenn ein Gegner keine gültige Aktion mehr ausführen kann oder wenn alle Zonen belegt sind. Der Spieler mit den meisten Gebieten zu diesem Zeitpunkt gewinnt.
