Yes, ELO system, it's a bit tricky when cooperative games, victory counts as "TIE" not as victory, in my table, both won 26/30 and ELO was substracted EVEN WE WON!

ELO System should be improved for coop games.

According to Hanabi maker, you scored 30 for a victory. According to BGA, you need to pay for a victory :D LOL None the less, I understand how players feel and voted for this to be .... thought over.

I wish there was more clarification about the ELOs. Since the interface changed and I started using black powder that I thought would be rewarding, my ELO scores went down by 200 in 4 weeks. I simply don't get how I get no marks for perfect games even with an unlucky deck with black powder, no flamboyant help and only 5 cards in the hand, but I get 8 points deducted when we lose 1 card.

This happened today, as mentioned before, in a game with 5 multicolored cards. The problem might be when you play that variety.

This is not really a bug. Based on the average ELO across all players, a prediction is made how many points are likely to be scored. If ELOs are particularly high, this expectation may be 30 if only high-ELO players are present. After the game, your ELO is increased if you exceeded the expectation and decreased if you fell short of that prediction.
To increase transparency in cooperative games, the expected end score based on the average ELO across players should be viewed before starting the game.

ELO differing by about 400 pts (500+ and 900+)

If the only thing that matters isn't the score difference but average score altogether, I would highly suggest changing that so odd matchings with reasonable level difference even at higher levels can still earn points—just playing a round or two of being a Strong or Expert player who slipped into a Master room is enough to see Master players can have very very different expectations of what "norm" is in "conventions".

Had another run of the same issue in the following table:

> ELO rate +0

After playing at more types of tables now, I think this may have to do with specifically the combination of:

> Tricky Color + Black Powder + 5 Flamboyants AND either:
>> ELO rate differs by ~400 pts OR
>> ELO of one player is around 500 while the other is around 900
> WITH the given that this is a 2 player table only

Since black powder doesnt change your end score, pretty sure you gain less elo by using it. E.g. a 30/30 with and without black powder will probably score the same.

The bug still occur with any "only 5 multicolours cards" mod (+ black powder in my case).

5 multicolor cards does not give ELO because it is too difficult to balance compared to other modes (because it is very draw dependent). I guess it could at least be mentioned when you choose this mode.

Maybe the ELO balance could be improved with black powder.
